GREEN BAY − With Josh Jacobs joining the Green Bay Packers’ backfield, general manager Brian Gutekunst can now
concentrate on constructing his offensive line, the last component needed to create a championship attack
.Three-year starting guard Jon Runyan will not be involved in the process as he is expected to sign a $30 million three-year contract with the New York Giants, of which $17 million is guaranteed, according to ESPN.
A sixth-round draft pick in 2020, Runyan started 50 of the Packers’ 51 games over the past three years.
The Packers will probably use the draft to add more competition to their offensive line.
- Gutekunst’s main priority might be left tackle, where he can select from a highly anticipated class and face 2022 seventh-round pick Rasheed Walker. The addition of depth to the offensive line by the Packers is also expected to create competition for Rhyan at right guard.
