Jeff Brohm has been named the new head coach of the Louisville football team.

Vols QB, Harrison Bailey, enters transfer portal

Jeff Brohm shook his hand a little on Thursday while Josh Heird, the athletic director at Louisville, was speaking.

“I’ve now worked as the AD for 366 days. Heird turned to Brohm and stated, “Jeff, you’ve made my life harder for 365.” “Letting jokes aside, the University of Louisville and our community are experiencing great excitement today. Jeff Brohm, our home coach, will take over as head of our football program today.”

Sitting on a bar stool in front of hundreds of people, including his parents, Donna and Oscar Brohm, siblings, Greg and Kim, father-in-law Phil, and Trinity High School coach Dennis Lampley, Brohm’s knee gave way.

Long before anyone approached the stage, a graphic was displayed on a screen inside Cardinal Stadium’s Angel’s Envy Bourbon Club, officially confirming what everyone wanted: BROHM MADE A RETURN.

The Board of Trustees at Purdue gave Brohm permission to take over as head football coach of the Cardinals after he had worked there for the previous six years.

The announcement that Scott Satterfield would be leaving to take over as head coach at Cincinnati on Monday morning set the tone for the week. In less than 48 hours, rumors circulated that Brohm would be going back to Louisville to take up the recently created position.

“This decision had nothing to do with bringing back the hometown hero,” Heird stated. To put it simply, Jeff offers this initiative the best chance of becoming successful. Jeff is an accomplished winner.#

“From my days watching games at the fairgrounds to playing for my mentor, Howard Schnellenberger, to serving as an assistant coach, I believe I understand the decades-long mission that this community has had and been built upon: to maintain a championship program,” Brohm stated. “I am aware of the program’s origins, the enthusiasm that has propelled it, the challenges it has faced and conquered, and its future goals.
